1¹ A penalty box scramble resulted in DAVID driving the ball wide. 4¹ The 'keeper was able to block a weak shot from DAVID. 9¹ PALMER was put clear by DAVID and he pulled away from the Bayer Leverkusen 'keeper but rammed his shot over. 11¹ RODRIGUEZ ran onto a wonderful ball from STAGE but toe-poked his shot wide of the goal. 17¹ A mix up in the Benfica defence enabled PIEPER to volley an effort wide. 19¹ ZETTERER did well to hold onto a fierce strike from SAMU. 25¹ GOAL!! A great solo effort from SAMU who beat four defenders before striking the ball into the back of the net. (1-0 Benfica) 31¹ JOÃO MÁRIO charged through the Benfica defence but shot straight at the Benfica 'keeper. 34¹ The hapless 'keeper stared in disbelief as a backpass from KIMMICH fell just over. 1² A fine run was ended by a good save by the advancing 'keeper. 2² ALARIO's shot beat the 'keeper but rebounded off the Benfica crossbar. 3² GOAL!!
