1¹ A cross from STRIEDER left DE VITA in plenty of space but he fluffed his shot. 2¹ A weak shot from SCOTT trickled agonisingly wide. 5¹ GOAL!! A short corner was knocked out to FELLOWS who lashed the ball into the net. (1-0 Bristol City) 8¹ An outswinging corner was forced into the arms of the Bristol City 'keeper by VUCKIC. 10¹ GOAL!! After being forced wide VUCKIC managed to drive the ball in from the narrowest of angles. (1-1) 14¹ SCOTT headed the ball wide from the edge of the box. 18¹ NYPAN chipped the ball to CONWAY who flicked it over the bar. 21¹ CONWAY ran onto a great ball from NYPAN but dragged his shot wide of the goal. 28¹ GOAL!! Showing plenty of skill VUCKIC dribbled past NYPAN and fired the ball past the 'keeper. (2-1 Newport County) 31¹ STRIEDER beat KLOSE and whacked the ball to DE VITA who fired his effort wide. 38¹ The 'keeper dived to his left to stop an accurate drive from Bristol City's CONWAY. 47¹ A corner fell to CONWAY who nodded an effort inches over. 47¹ NYPAN made space on the left and touched the ball to SCOTT who fired the ball over. 11² BELL clipped the ball through a ruck of players but the Bristol City 'keeper was a match for it as he dived to his right. 11² FELLOWS stabbed a simple chance past the righthand post. 14² GOAL!! A terrible clearance fell to DE VITA who sliced a shot goalward, luckily VUCKIC was on hand to fire the ball into the back of the net. (3-1 Newport County) 17² An exceptional effort from CONWAY scraped the outside of the lefthand post. 21² A fine piece of skill was ended by a good save by the oncoming Newport County 'keeper. 24² A penalty box meleé resulted in SYKES driving the ball over. 25² HOGAN beat four Bristol City players and blasted a great chance over. 28² The 'keeper did well to hold onto a powerful shot from BELA. 32² The stunned 'keeper stared in disbelief as a backpass from KIPRÉ dropped just over. 35² Uncertainty in the Bristol City defence enabled VUCKIC to hit an effort just beyond the near post. 41² VUCKIC headed just beyond the near post.
